Generic conventions

The genre of our sequence is Horror/thriller. The genre conventions that show this are:

  • The Killers mask -  which inflicts uneasiness and fear
  • The Knife - Also inflicts fear
  • The Female victim
  • The Male victim
  • Eerie sounds in the background
  • Time of day it is set in. (dark)
We also follow some codes and conventions of horror such as:
  • Causes fear and panic
  • Causes dread and alarm
  • The killer has a characteristic trademark for example the people he kills, the mask and the knife.

Representations
The use of the mask and knife is a form of representation from the killer from "Scream", we wanted to adapt the killer so he wouldn't be exactly the same, therefore we choose a scary looking mask and a small knife that can easily be concealed.

We represented London as a quiet place but a place that isn't completely safe, a place where you should always be aware of your surroundings.
